This 1955 Martin D-28 dreadnaught has an exceptional Brazilian Rosewood sides and back. Along with the solid Sitka spruce top, you have the elements of THE PREMIER wood choices for sonic excellence and beauty in an acoustic guitar. Refinished at the Martin factory in the late 80’s / early 90’s. The Martin D-28 has a 40 1/2" total length, a 20" body length, 15 5/8" body width and a 4 7/8" body depth. It also features a solid Mahogany neck, and 20 fret Ebony fingerboard with 14 frets clear on a 25.4" scale length. The fingerboard width at the nut is 1-11/16 to 2-1/8 at the 12th fret. This guitar has a nice Ebony fingerboard and bridge, and plays and sounds superb. This guitar is a perfect example of why the D-28 has continued to be one of the most popular guitars in the world for 80 years. It is responsive to a light right hand attack; yielding a smooth sustain even at lower volumes. On the flip side, it has power and volume that will impress any heavy flat picker. The low end is full without getting mushy, while the note attack is clear and precise enough to cut through any group of instruments.
